Bordogni
Bordogni-Jacobs
Wesley Jacobs, principal tuba (ret.) of the
Detroit Symphony Orchestra edited this
collection of Bordogni's vocalises for tuba.
This Bordogni edition is the only complete
version ever published for tuba.
The music is carefully engraved to the
highest quality standards. Many errors that
exist in the old trombone editions have
been corrected for this new book.
Bordogni made his operatic debut at La
Scala, Milan in 1813. He appeared in many
of Rossini's operas on their first
presentation in various towns and theaters.
He sang for many years at the Théâtre des
Italiens in Paris. He became a teacher at
the Paris Conservatoire in 1820 and
continued to teach there until shortly before
his death.
