Bordogni
Bordogni-Mulcahy
Michael Mulcahy, trombonist of the Chicago
Symphony Orchestra, has edited and
annotated this exciting new edition of the
Bordogni masterpieces. 21st century
knowledge is applied to the timeless
musical principals of Bordogni. The result is
a book that is the cornerstone of every
trombonist's library.
This new edition of the Vocalises corrects
errors present in the earlier editions. New
concepts of performance technique are
discussed and applied to the music.
The more advanced Vocalises are
presented in tenor or alto clef. Mr. Mulcahy
offers several complete interpretations of
études. In short, this is a new Bordogni.
Bordogni made his operatic debut at La
Scala, Milan in 1813. He appeared in many
of Rossini's operas on their first
presentation in various towns and theaters.
He sang for many years at the Théâtre des
Italiens in Paris. He became a teacher at
the Paris Conservatoire in 1820 and
continued to teach there until shortly before
his death.
